Covid 19 Guidelines
Philly Hockey Club, Covid 19 Guidelines:
PROMOTE BEHAVIORS THAT REDUCE SPREAD:
– Coaches and players who are sick or have recently had close contact with a person with COVID-19 should stay home and monitor their health.
– Coaches and players must stay home if they have tested positive for or are showing COVID-19 symptoms.
Arrival and Departure at Facilities:
– Plan to arrive or be dropped off no more than 20mins prior to your session’s commencement.
– Parents should take player’s temperature either before coming to training or upon arrival at the facility. If a player shows signs of a fever, cough, shortness of breath or other symptoms of COVID-19 please do not enter the facility. A list of symptoms can be found here: Link Here>>
– Upon arrival, parents should stay in their cars. Allow players to enter the facility on their own (wearing a mask). We suggest that parents do not stay to watch indoor training sessions due to number limitations. If parents choose to stay and watch outdoor training session, you cannot congregate together with other parents and you need to wear a face covering.
– Upon departure, the players will leave the facility (wearing a mask) and walk directly to meet their parents who will be waiting in their cars in the carpark. The vehicles must leave the premises as soon as the participants are safely in their seats.
– Players are to leave immediately after the end of their session.
Designated COVID-19 Point of Contact:
– Rennie Milne will be the designated staff person who will be responsible for responding to COVID-19 concerns. He can be contacted by email at renniemilne13@hotmail.com or telephone at 267-218-1949.
Communication Systems:
– Philly HC staff will protect the privacy of people at higher risk for severe illness regarding underlying medical conditions in accordance with applicable privacy and confidentiality policies, laws and regulations.
– Philly HC staff will notify families of program closures and restrictions in place to limit COVID-19 exposure should they be necessary.
Face Coverings:
– Outdoor: Face coverings are required for players upon arrival at the facility and departure. Face coverings are required at all times during training.
– Indoor: Face coverings are required for players upon arrival at the facility and departure. Face coverings are required at all times inside the indoor facility, including throughout the training session, court set up and breakdown.
– Coaches are required to wear face coverings before, during and after sessions.
– Cloth face coverings should be washed at the end of each day by coaches and players in accordance with CDC Guidelines, Link Here>>
Hand Hygiene and Restroom Usage:
– Coaches and players are required to wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds when using the restroom or otherwise. Coaches and players are strongly encouraged to use disinfectant wipes or hand sanitizer before, during and after training sessions.
– Coaches and players are strongly encouraged to cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue. Used tissues should be thrown in the trash and hands washed immediately with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
– Coaches and players should use the restroom before coming to their session to minimize restroom.
Recognize Signs and Symptoms:
– Coaches will be trained on all safety protocols and recognizing symptoms of COVID-19.
– Coaches will ask parents/guardians to take their child’s temperature either before coming to the facility or upon arrival at the facility.
– Parent/guardian will confirm to coaches that the child does not have fever, shortness of breath or cough.
– Coaches will, while maintaining a distance of 6 feet, make a visual inspection of the child for signs of illness which could include flushed cheeks, rapid breathing or difficulty breathing (without recent physical activity), fatigue, or extreme fussiness.
– Coaches will administer temperature screening to players that show signs of COVID-19. This will be conducted safely and respectfully, and in accordance with any applicable privacy laws and regulations.
PREPARING FOR WHEN SOMEONE GETS SICK:
– Sick individuals should not come to club programs.
– Sick individuals will be advised of Home Isolation Criteria and advised that he or she should not return to the program until they have complied with the CDC’s criteria to discontinue home isolation, Link Here>>
– Participants and staff should notify the designated COVID-19 point of contact, Rennie Milne, if they become sick with COVID-19 symptoms, test positive for COVID-19, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms or a confirmed or suspected case.
Isolate and Transport Those who are Sick:
– Should a coach or players show signs of COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath) while attending our sessions, they will be immediately separated and isolated.
– The individuals who are sick will be sent home or to a healthcare facility depending on how severe their symptoms are, and follow CDC guidance, Link Here>>
Notify Health Officials and Close Contacts:
– In accordance with state and local laws and regulations, Rennie Milne will notify local health officials, staff and families immediately of any case of COVID-19 while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
– Rennie Milne will advise those who have had close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19 to stay home, self-monitor for symptoms, and follow CDC guidance if symptoms develop.
Cleaning and Disinfection:
– Training equipment, balls, cones, etc. are regularly cleaned and disinfected.
– Facilities that the club utilizes have their own stringent cleaning protocols in place.
