If you are looking to continue your skill and physical development over the summer then Philly HC Summer Training Sessions are for you. The sessions will be tailored and focused to get the best form players in attendance.

Sessions will run weekly in a drop-in format. You will need to register online for the sessions however you can pick and chose your dates.

Rennie Milne Head coach at Philly HC, Kamal Seehra, Jackie Connard and Graduated players will focus on fundamental development, goal scoring, attacking and defending.
Jim Sharkey, a certified personal trainer, brings over 17 years of experience with him and will run the physical side.

Conditioning Specifics:
Athletic Balance – improve body awareness and allow athlete to use their body for leverage
Athletic Movement – Acceleration, deceleration and change of direction
Power – Athletes will learn to produce force quickly (explosiveness)
Speed – athlete will learn to reach maximal speed efficiently in a field hockey setting.
Athletic Strength – whole body integrated movement
Reaction – learning to read and react explosively in a sport environment,
Mental Toughness – athletes ability to push themselves beyond their current capabilities

Skill Specifics:
Stick Skills – Hand speed, body positioning, footwork
Dribbling – Body positioning, ball carry, vision, speed, footwork
Passing – Full and short handle, hit, flick, reverse, sweep, and aerials
Shooting – Hit, sweep, flick, reverse, squeeze, volley and deflections
Defending – tackling techniques,
